New York Aquarium

The oldest continually operated aquarium in the nation, the New York Aquarium originated in Battery Park, Manhattan in 1896 before moving to the boardwalk of Coney Island in 1957.

Home to a conservation hall, 4-D theater, education hall, seacliffs of walruses and penguins, Glover Reef (a 150,000-gallon tank packed with 35 species of marine life).

While parts are still under construction, “Ocean Wonders: Sharks!” is set to be a massive 57,000 square foot destination where over 100 species of wild life will roam, including tiger sharks and a coral reef tunnel.
