There’s no lack of historic (and delicious!) food at Coney Island.

Nathans Famous

Nathan’s Famous

This explosive international food chain started way back in 1916 as a nickel hotdog stand in Coney Island. Nathan’s Famous has become an nostalgic American staple. Home to the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest every Fourth of July, a Nathan’s hot dog will change your life no matter where you have it – but having it at the original location is something special. Pro Tip: The boardwalk Nathan’s is not the original. Head a block down to 1310 Surf Ave to experience the real thing.

Grimaldis Pizza

Just a block off of the famous Coney Island boardwalk, Grimaldis Pizzeria serves coal brick oven pizza with over 100 years of delicious tradition.

Since 1924 Totonno’s has been a neighborhood staple in Coney Island. Family owned and operated, this 92 year old is the oldest continually run family-owned pizzeria in America. This is a place built on tradition, operated on love and firing up their ovens to produce what has been named the best pizza in New York City.

Rubys Bar Grill

Ruby’s Bar and Grill

The oldest bar and grill on the boardwalk, Ruby’s has been serving up cold beers and traditional seaside fare since 1972. What’s even cooler? The tables, bar, walls and ceiling are all made up of the original 1920’s boardwalk! The epicenter of Coney Island, Ruby’s is a must-stop.

Pauls Daughter

Paul’s Daughter

Paul’s Daughter is quintessential Coney Island. For over 50 years it has been serving up fresh clams and cold beer to boardwalk visitors. Visit for an ice-cream cone, a lobster roll or some fried chicken when you need a little break from the rides of Luna Park or the waves of the Atlantic.
